Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as the governor of Anambra State, describing his victory as a “landslide”. Soludo’s win is a testament to his strong performance and popularity among the people of Anambra State, having won in all 21 local government areas with a total of 422,664 votes.
His closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), garnered 99,445 votes, a significant margin behind Soludo’s tally. Ojukwu praised the people of Anambra for “keeping the faith” and expressed her gratitude, saying “One good term deserves another! God of Moses! May Your name be praised forevermore!” Soludo’s victory marks a significant milestone, with him becoming one of the few incumbent governors to be re-elected in Anambra State since 1999.
Soludo has thanked President Bola Tinubu for being a “true democrat” and allowing the will of the people to prevail. He also extended an olive branch to his opponents, calling for unity and collaboration to move Anambra State forward. The governor-elect has promised to continue his work in developing Anambra State, focusing on key areas such as infrastructure, education, and healthcare.
