The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to see significant developments, with Ukrainian defenders putting up a staunch resistance against enemy assaults and inflicting substantial losses on Russian forces.
According to the latest reports, Ukrainian troops have repelled multiple Russian attacks across various sectors, including the Donetsk, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia regions, with a total of 146 combat clashes recorded. Russian losses have been substantial, with 970 personnel lost, 35 guided aerial bombs destroyed, and 323 artillery shellings conducted by Ukrainian forces.
Russian forces have intensified their aerial campaign, launching 51 airstrikes and deploying 79 guided bombs, in addition to carrying out 5,304 shellings, including 107 from multiple launch rocket systems. However, Ukrainian air defense systems have successfully intercepted enemy projectiles, limiting the impact of these attacks.
On the territorial front, Ukrainian forces have made strategic gains, repelling enemy attacks in the Northern-Slobozhanske and Kursk directions. In other directions, Ukrainian defenders have also held their ground, stopping seven out of 10 enemy attempts to break through defensive lines in the Southern-Slobozhanske direction. Four Russian attacks were recorded in the Kupiansk direction, while the enemy carried out 19 attacks in the Lyman direction, attempting to penetrate Ukrainian defenses.
The international community continues to support Ukraine, with the European Council extending sanctions against Russia until January 31, 2026, covering finance, energy, trade, and defense technologies. Germany has also pledged to support Ukraine’s domestic arms manufacturing, focusing on long-term self-reliance in air defense and artillery. German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul’s visit to Kyiv underscored the commitment to bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities .
