Oba Rashid Ladoja
The Olubadan-in-Council has officially nominated Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, following a meeting at the Olubadan Palace in Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State. This decision was announced by the Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, who confirmed that all members of the council had signed the resolution supporting Ladoja’s nomination.
Ladoja’s nomination is a significant development in the Ibadan monarchy, and it follows the completion of the 21-day mourning period for the late Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who passed away on July 7, 2025. As the current Otun Olubadan, the highest-ranking chief in the civil line, Ladoja brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role.
