Nentawe Yilwatda, the newly appointed national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has pledged to make the party the first choice for Nigerians. To achieve this, he plans to unite the party, deepen its structure, and advance the Renewed Hope Agenda. Yilwatda believes unity is crucial for the party’s success and is committed to working with everyone to fulfill the dreams of Nigerians.
He aims to bring together all party members and stakeholders to strengthen the APC’s structure and advance the Renewed Hope Agenda. Yilwatda described party leaders and members as “mechanics of the party” who will work together to fix and drive the party forward. He intends to recruit more governors from opposition parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to increase the APC’s presence across the country. Currently, the APC has 23 governors, and Yilwatda aims to add more to this number.
Yilwatda plans to leverage technology to enhance the party’s operations, improve research capabilities, and provide better support for members. This includes utilizing ICT to predict voter behavior, deepen the party’s base in each state, and ensure transparency in party operations. He will work with state governors and party leaders to deliver more democratic dividends to citizens and prioritize progressive reforms and development at the grassroots level.
President Bola Tinubu has urged APC governors and the new party chairman to prioritize progressive reforms and development, especially at the grassroots level. He emphasized the need for the party to invest more in the country’s future, ensure food security, and deliver more democratic dividends to citizens. Tinubu also proposed the formation of a national working committee to ensure seamless registration for new members across all states.
