The All Progressives Congress has praised President Bola Tinubu’s nationwide declaration of free technical education, describing it as a visionary and people-oriented policy that will equip young Nigerians with practical skills and secure the country’s future.
This policy removes financial barriers to technical education and provides every student with a ₦22,500 monthly stipend to support their studies. By acquiring relevant skills in technology, innovation, and vocational expertise, millions of young Nigerians will be able to drive industrial growth, achieve self-reliance, and promote economic resilience.
The party commended President Tinubu’s long-standing commitment to human capital development, mirroring his initiatives as Lagos State governor, where he introduced free education and invested heavily in schools.
The free technical education scheme covers tuition and other approved charges, including boarding fees, uniforms, textbooks, exercise books, prospectus and identity cards, stationery, medical services, vocational charges, utilities, security, digital learning tools, extra lessons, and insurance.
However, students are expected to provide personal items such as toiletries, beddings, clothing, school shoes, uniforms for religious activities, mosquito nets, and cutlery. The APC assured President Tinubu of its continued support as his administration rolls out policies aimed at resetting Nigeria on the path of progress.
