Bayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power, has declared his intention to run for the Oyo State governorship in 2027 under the All Progressives Congress (APC). He emphasized that his ambition is driven by a deep love for the people of Oyo State, particularly the poor and less privileged, and a desire to serve. Adelabu made this declaration while addressing APC leaders, stakeholders, and party members in Oke-Ogun Zone 2 of the state.
He stressed that his governorship ambition is not driven by personal or selfish interests but rather a genuine desire to work towards the progress and development of Oyo State. Adelabu has been engaging in consultations across geopolitical zones in the state, seeking support from party members and stakeholders. He assured that no candidate would be imposed on the party and called for unity within the APC.
Adelabu’s declaration has sparked interest in the upcoming 2027 gubernatorial election, with many speculating about the potential candidates and the party’s chances of winning. As a seasoned politician who has contested in two previous gubernatorial elections, Adelabu believes his experience and dedication to public service make him a strong contender for the position.
The minister’s vision for Oyo State includes working towards the development and progress of the state, with a focus on inclusive governance where everyone will have a role to play. He also emphasized the importance of internal democracy within the party and urged members to stand together as one. Adelabu’s supporters, including notable figures such as Alhaji Wasiu Ajimobi and Hon. Kareem Abisodun, have expressed confidence in his ability to lead the party to victory in 2027.
