Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has inaugurated the Accreditation and Special Duties Subcommittees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the party’s 2025 Elective National Convention scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State. Governor Lawal, who chairs the Accreditation Subcommittee, emphasized the importance of transparency and credibility in the convention process, describing the subcommittee as the most vital component of the National Convention.
According to Lawal, the Accreditation Subcommittee’s responsibilities include compiling the official delegate list, producing accreditation materials, and ensuring the welfare of delegates and dignitaries throughout the convention. He urged members to approach their duties with diligence and integrity, stressing that their work would determine the tone and credibility of the entire convention.
The Special Duties Subcommittee, on the other hand, is tasked with coordinating financial activities of all subcommittees, approving budgets, raising funds, and managing disbursements transparently. Governor Lawal commended members of the Special Duties Subcommittee for their integrity and fiscal prudence, noting that their role is crucial to the smooth conduct of the convention.
Lawal described the Special Duties Subcommittee as the “central nervous system” of the convention, ensuring that every organ functions with the needed resources. He expressed confidence that with the collective efforts of all members, the upcoming PDP National Convention would be credible, transparent, and a reflection of the party’s renewed commitment to internal democracy.
The governor emphasized that the work of the subcommittees is critical to the success of the convention, stating that “this is not merely an administrative task; it is a sacred trust.” He urged members to demonstrate diligence, transparency, and teamwork as the PDP prepares for what many within the party describe as a defining convention for its future direction.
