Portable, the Nigerian singer, has claimed that he’s helped more people in the music industry than Olamide, Davido, Wizkid, and Don Jazzy combined. He made this statement in a video, emphasizing that his influence extends beyond music releases. According to him, he constantly assists upcoming artists and everyday Nigerians who lack connections in the entertainment industry.
Portable explained that true support involves taking someone from the streets, providing accommodation, food, clothing, and even financing their early studio sessions. He contrasted this with what he sees as exploitative practices, where established artists use upcoming talents for business purposes and label them ungrateful when they seek independence.
The Zazu crooner also highlighted his humility, stating that he freely mingles with ordinary people and regularly reposts videos made by his fans. He criticized other Nigerian celebrities who don’t acknowledge their fans, even when they dance to their songs or promote them.
Portable’s claims have sparked mixed reactions online, with some praising his grassroots generosity and others arguing he’s overstating his contributions. Some social media users have pointed out that he’s known for bragging, but acknowledge that he’s indeed helped some people.
