Victor Osimhen’s late bicycle kick secured a thrilling 3-2 win for Galatasaray over Samsunspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday night. The Nigerian striker scored twice, including the dramatic stoppage-time winner, to hand Galatasaray all three points at Rams Park Stadium.
Leroy Sané opened the scoring for Galatasaray in the eighth minute, and Osimhen doubled the lead just before half-time, finishing off a fine setup from Sané. Samsunspor fought back in the second half, with Anthony Musaba pulling one back in the 56th minute and Emre Kilinç leveling the score in the 88th minute.
However, Osimhen had the final word, brilliantly converting a bicycle kick deep into stoppage time to secure the win for Galatasaray. The victory keeps Galatasaray atop the table with 36 points from 15 games, four points clear of second-placed Fenerbahçe.
Osimhen’s goal was his fifth in the Super Lig this season, taking his overall tally to 48 goals in 55 matches for Galatasaray. The 26-year-old has been in excellent form, scoring 11 goals for Galatasaray this season.
Galatasaray’s win was a welcome relief after a draw against Fenerbahçe and a Champions League defeat to Union St.Gilloise. The victory extends their unbeaten run in the Super Lig to three matches, and they will look to build on this momentum in their next fixture against Antalyaspor.
Samsunspor, on the other hand, remain fifth in the table with 25 points from 15 games. Despite their late fightback, they were unable to secure a point, and will look to bounce back against Başakşehir in their next match.
