Anambra State has once again cemented its reputation as a leader in technology‑driven governance, walking away with four top honors at the 13th National Council on Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy (NCCIDE) meeting. The ceremony, held from December 8‑12 2025 at Jos’s Crispan Suite & Event Centre, highlighted the southeastern state’s growing influence in Nigeria’s digital landscape.
The conference, themed “Accelerating Inclusive Digital Transformation: Bridging Gaps and Fostering Sustainable Growth Through Innovation,” brought together federal and state officials, industry experts, and innovators. Participants used the platform to assess the nation’s digital progress and chart a technology‑enabled future, emphasizing the power of collaboration in driving nationwide digital inclusion.
A key feature of the event was the State Innovation Peer Review Session (SIPRS), where each state presented its technological breakthroughs and governance improvements. Anambra’s presentation stood out, earning it the awards for Best Overall State in ICT Development and Best State in Nurturing ICT Human Capital. The state also secured second‑runner‑up positions in Infrastructure Development and e‑Government Implementation, reflecting a comprehensive digital transformation agenda.
Chief Press Secretary to Governor Soludo, Christian Aburime, said the accolades underscore Governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s vision of a tech‑enabled, economically vibrant “Smart Mega City.” He credited the state’s investments in broadband connectivity, electronic governance solutions, and skill‑development programs for positioning Anambra as a model for other states.
Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, Managing Director and CEO of the Anambra State ICT Agency, expressed gratitude to Governor Soludo for his steadfast leadership and to the team that created a supportive policy environment. He emphasized that the awards celebrate the collective effort behind the administration’s “Everything Technology, Technology Everywhere” mantra.
This achievement marks the second time in recent years that Anambra has captured four top prizes at NCCIDE, echoing its strong performance in 2023. The state’s consistent recognition highlights sustained innovation across digital governance, infrastructure, human‑resource development, and online service delivery, offering a blueprint for accelerating national development through strategic technology use.
