President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Lagos to spend the end-of-year holidays, following official visits to Borno and Bauchi states. He was received at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, government officials, and APC chieftains.
Tinubu’s trip to Lagos is part of a three-state tour that began in Borno, where he commissioned projects executed by Governor Babagana Zulum’s administration and attended the wedding ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff. He then proceeded to Bauchi to pay a condolence visit to the state government and the family of late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, a renowned Islamic cleric .
During his stay in Lagos, Tinubu is expected to attend several events, including the Eyo Festival on December 27 at Tafawa Balewa Square. The festival will honor prominent personalities, including his late mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, and former Lagos State Governors Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Michael Otedola.
The Eyo Festival is a significant cultural event in Lagos, celebrating the city’s rich heritage and traditions. Tinubu’s attendance is seen as a way to connect with the people of Lagos and promote unity and peace.
Tinubu’s visit to Lagos also comes at a time when the state is experiencing a sense of calm and stability, thanks to the efforts of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration. The governor has been working to promote religious harmony and tolerance in the state.
