Morocco kicked off their AFCON 2025 campaign with a 2-0 win over Comoros, thanks to goals from Brahim Diaz and Ayoub El Kaabi’s stunning bicycle kick. The hosts dominated possession but struggled to break down Comoros’ defense until Diaz scored in the 55th minute, followed by El Kaabi’s 74th-minute strike.
The Atlas Lions’ victory extends their world-record winning streak to 19 consecutive matches. Morocco’s strong performance was driven by their midfield trio of Sofyan Amrabat, Hakim Ziyech, and Ismael Bounou, who controlled the tempo of the game.
Morocco’s next match is against Mali on December 26, a crucial game that could determine their chances of topping Group E. Comoros, on the other hand, will face Zambia on the same day, looking to bounce back from their opening defeat.
Ayoub El Kaabi’s goal was a highlight of the match, showcasing his exceptional skill and athleticism. His bicycle kick was a testament to Morocco’s attacking prowess and creativity.
The AFCON 2025 tournament is heating up, with several teams vying for the top spot. Morocco’s strong start puts them in a good position, but they’ll need to maintain their momentum against tougher opponents.
