The Nigerian military has been actively conducting operations to rescue kidnapped victims and neutralize terrorists across the country. In December 2025, troops rescued several victims, including 130 schoolchildren and staff abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Niger State, and 17 terrorists were neutralized in Borno communities.
The troops’ efforts are part of a broader campaign to secure the country and protect its citizens from the scourge of terrorism and kidnapping. The military has been working tirelessly to disrupt the operations of terrorist groups and bring perpetrators to justice.
The rescue of the schoolchildren and staff was a significant operation, and the military’s efforts to secure their release were widely praised. The troops also neutralized 17 terrorists in Sojiri and Kayamla communities of Konduga Local Government Area, Borno State, during a well-coordinated ambush.
In other operations, troops rescued nine kidnapped victims, including women and children, in Sokoto State, and four abducted persons in Plateau State. These operations demonstrate the military’s commitment to securing the country and protecting its citizens.
The military’s efforts are expected to continue, with a focus on disrupting terrorist networks and ensuring the safe release of all remaining captives. The public has been assured of the military’s resolve to protect the country and its people.
