Gun men

Gunmen attacked Pindiga town in Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State in the early hours of Sunday, killing two residents and abducting several others. The victims, identified as Yusuf Mohammed (31) and Faiza Mohammed (28), were shot during the raid and later confirmed dead at the hospital. Among those abducted were a 16-year-old girl, Zainab Mohammed Yusuf, a housewife, and her children. The incident has thrown the community into mourning and fear, with families left devastated by the violence.
Reacting to the attack, Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya strongly condemned the killings and abductions, calling them barbaric and unacceptable. He extended his condolences to the bereaved families and reassured the public that the state would not tolerate such acts of terror. The governor stressed that the incident threatens the peace and security that the state has worked hard to maintain.
Governor Yahaya confirmed that security agencies have been mobilised to track down the perpetrators and rescue the abducted victims. He urged residents to remain calm, cooperate with law enforcement, and stay vigilant. The government also reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and restoring confidence in the affected communities.
