President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to attend the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) Summit. He was received by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and other dignitaries at Zayed International Airport. Tinubu’s visit is at the invitation of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan .
The ADSW Summit is a week-long annual event that brings together global leaders from government, business, and civil society to discuss sustainable development and address emerging global challenges. This year’s theme is “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” focusing on innovation, finance, and human capital to drive sustainable growth.
Tinubu’s participation in the summit aims to position Nigeria as a leading player in sustainable development, attract foreign investment, and foster partnerships that align with the country’s national growth objectives. He is expected to engage in key discussions with global leaders on sustainable development, climate action, and investment partnerships.
The President’s trip to Abu Dhabi is part of his official engagements after spending part of his end-of-year break in Europe. He had earlier visited Borno and Bauchi states, commissioning projects executed by the state governments in collaboration with the Federal Government.
The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is a premier annual event that serves as a global forum for world leaders, industry experts, and civil society organizations to address critical issues regarding energy innovation and the financial infrastructure required for renewable energy transitions.
Tinubu’s visit underscores the strengthening alliance between Nigeria and the UAE, particularly in the sectors of green energy and economic cooperation. The President is expected to return to Nigeria after the summit .
