The Pad Me A Girl Empowerment Foundation, in collaboration with Access Bank, has concluded a multi-location humanitarian outreach under the “Access Pad Me A Girl 2.0” initiative, reaching vulnerable girls and women in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps across Abuja, Benue, and Nasarawa States between February 6 and 9, 2026.
The outreach covered Area 1 IDP Camp, Durumi (Abuja), Ortese IDP Camp (Benue State), and Kadarko IDP Camp (Nasarawa State), with a strong focus on advancing menstrual dignity, access to education, and basic welfare support for displaced girls and women.
Beneficiaries received reusable sanitary pads, exercise books, writing materials, food items, and other essential supplies designed to ease daily living challenges within the camps.
Speaking on the initiative, the Convener of the Pad Me A Girl Empowerment Foundation, Theresa Moses, said the outreach reflects a firm commitment to ensuring that no girl is deprived of dignity or education due to menstruation or displacement. She described Access Pad Me A Girl 2.0 as a platform for restoring confidence, dignity, and opportunity, stressing that menstrual hygiene is a fundamental right rather than a privilege.
Moses noted that the provision of educational materials and food items was intentionally integrated to address the broader needs of girls in IDP camps, emphasizing that menstrual support must be complemented by education and welfare interventions.
The Foundation described its partnership with Access Bank as a model for impactful corporate collaboration, highlighting the role of private sector support in delivering sustainable, grassroots solutions for vulnerable communities.
Beneficiaries and camp officials commended the outreach, describing it as timely and impactful, particularly for young girls who frequently miss school due to limited access to menstrual products and learning materials.
The Access Pad Me A Girl 2.0 initiative forms part of the Foundation’s ongoing nationwide campaign to combat period poverty and uplift vulnerable girls, with plans underway to extend the programme to additional IDP camps and underserved communities across Nigeria.
