The Trade Minister, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, has kicked off the Argungu Fishing Festival with a grand motor rally in Abuja. The rally, which started at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, is expected to pass through several states, including Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Zamfara, and Sokoto, before finally arriving in Argungu, Kebbi State.
The event is part of the 61st Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival, which aims to promote Nigeria’s cultural heritage, tourism, and economic growth. The festival is expected to attract participants and visitors from within and outside the country.
The motor rally is a significant component of the festival, showcasing Nigeria’s automotive industry and promoting locally assembled vehicles. Over 30 vehicles are participating in the rally, which will demonstrate their durability and technological advancement.
The Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Dr. Olwemimo Osanipin, emphasized the importance of the rally in promoting Nigeria’s automotive sector. He noted that the event aligns with the government’s efforts to boost the country’s economy and promote local industries.
The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu, described the motor rally as a symbol of resilience and growing economic confidence in Nigeria. He commended the organizers for their efforts in promoting the country’s cultural heritage
