Fidelity Bank Plc has unveiled the second edition of its flagship women-focused initiative, the HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme 2.0 (HAP 2.0), reaffirming its commitment to advancing female entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
The enhanced programme is designed to equip women with practical, income-generating skills and structured pathways to sustainable business ownership, building on the successes recorded in its inaugural 2023 edition.
Speaking during a media parley to announce the launch, the Divisional Head, Product Development at Fidelity Bank Plc, Osita Ede, noted that HAP 2.0 has been strengthened to drive deeper and more measurable impact.
“HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme 2.0 reflects our culture of continuous improvement. Following insights from the first edition, we have introduced stronger partnerships and expanded mentorship frameworks to ensure participants gain not only technical skills but also access to sustainable economic opportunities,” he said.
He explained that the programme emphasises guided, hands-on learning, with beneficiaries undergoing intensive apprenticeship training under reputable institutions and industry experts in selected fields, including hair styling, shoemaking, auto mechatronics, and interior decoration.
Beyond technical training, HAP 2.0 incorporates comprehensive business advisory support. Participants will benefit from financial and business literacy sessions, structured mentorship throughout their apprenticeship, access to the bank’s women-focused and SME financing solutions, as well as guidance on business formalisation and growth strategies.
Ede further stressed that the initiative is designed to position women as job creators and economic drivers within their communities. “By combining structured mentorship with entrepreneurial development, Fidelity Bank is empowering women to emerge not just as skilled professionals, but as future employers, innovators, and contributors to economic growth. This aligns with our broader mandate to help individuals grow, businesses thrive, and economies prosper,” he added.
