The Lagos State Police Command has detained officers involved in a case of misconduct, following a viral video showing operatives harassing youths in the Ojuelegba area. The officers, allegedly from the Anti-Cultism Squad, were seen confiscating mobile phones and harassing young people at the Ojuelegba Under Bridge.
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has directed the officers to report to the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja for disciplinary proceedings. This move underscores the police force’s commitment to accountability and professionalism.
According to the police spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, the officers have been identified and brought before the Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, for questioning. Their statements have been obtained, and they are being detained pending further investigation.
