Organization Hosts LOYAMP Delegation, Seeks Stronger Media Partnership
The management of Dangote Cement Plc, Ibese Plant, has reiterated its commitment to deepening partnerships with host communities and key stakeholders to drive sustainable development and shared prosperity across Yewa-Awori land and beyond.
The Plant Director, Ayyagari Subbaraidu, made this known on Friday, April 17, 2026, while receiving a delegation of the League of Yewa-Awori Media Practitioners (LOYAMP), led by its National President, Abu-Satar Idowu Hamed, during a courtesy visit to the cement plant in Ibese, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Subbaraidu highlighted the vital role of the media in promoting public understanding, fostering development-oriented conversations, and strengthening trust between corporate organisations and host communities. He noted that responsible journalism is key to enhancing transparency, improving communication, and supporting inclusive growth.
He emphasized that the company remains dedicated to maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, particularly host communities, stressing that its success is closely linked to the well-being and progress of its operating environment. He added that the company is committed to supporting communities while growing alongside them.
The Plant Director expressed confidence that media professionals would continue to serve as partners in progress by supporting initiatives that drive innovation, economic growth, and social development in the region.
He was joined by members of the management team, including the Head of Social Performance, Ademola Ojolowo; General Manager, Human Asset Management and Administration, Aina Olugbenga; Human Resources Manager, Ladi Oloyede; and Francis Awowole-Browne from the Branding and Communications Department.
In his remarks, Hamed reaffirmed LOYAMP’s readiness to collaborate with the Dangote Group, particularly in projecting the company’s achievements and showcasing its contributions to community development. He clarified that the League is a professional association of experienced media practitioners drawn from the five local government areas of Ogun West.
He noted that the association remains committed to balanced reporting, constructive engagement, and development-driven journalism aimed at strengthening mutual understanding between organisations and their host communities.
Hamed commended Dangote Group for its impact in job creation, infrastructure development, and socio-economic growth, adding that its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives have consistently delivered meaningful benefits to host communities.
He described the visit as strategic, aimed at building a stronger partnership with Dangote Cement in areas such as information dissemination, public engagement, and amplifying the company’s contributions to society. He stressed that a well-informed public fosters trust, and the media plays a crucial role in shaping narratives that reflect truth, progress, and development.
Also speaking, Awowole-Browne emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between the media and corporate organisations, noting that strategic communication is essential for highlighting the positive impact of private sector investments. He called for deeper cooperation to enhance visibility of the group’s activities and contributions to national development.
Earlier, Ojolowo welcomed the delegation and appreciated members of LOYAMP for the visit. He reaffirmed that the Ibese Plant continues to prioritize Corporate Social Responsibility, noting that its initiatives have significantly benefited host communities. He added that the company remains responsive to stakeholder concerns and committed to strengthening relationships.
As part of the engagement, Isaac Ekere delivered a technical presentation on cement production, focusing on strategies for reducing carbon emissions and promoting environmentally sustainable manufacturing practices in line with global standards.
Discussions at the event underscored the importance of collaboration between the media and industry stakeholders in advancing transparency, sustainable development, and inclusive economic growth. Participants also highlighted Dangote Cement’s commitment to responsible corporate citizenship, innovation, and community engagement.
They, however, encouraged the company to intensify public awareness on environmental practices, noting that increased focus on sustainability, local content development, and stakeholder engagement would further strengthen its role as a driver of socio-economic progress in Nigeria.
