The Managing Director of Rite Foods Limited, Seleem Adegunwa, has been honoured with the Industrialist of the Year award by Vanguard Media Limited, in recognition of his visionary leadership, entrepreneurial insight, and the company’s transformative impact on Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
The award was presented at a prestigious ceremony held at the Convention Centre of Eko Hotel and Suites on Friday, April 24, 2026. The event attracted a distinguished gathering of business leaders, policymakers, and key industry stakeholders, underscoring the significance of the recognition.
Under Adegunwa’s leadership, Rite Foods has reshaped the competitive landscape within the FMCG sector, challenging established players and redefining consumer expectations through a strong commitment to innovation, quality, and affordability. By introducing unique product formats and building culturally relevant brands, the company has consistently raised industry standards and transformed consumer experiences in the food and beverage market.
The recognition aligns with the spirit of World Creativity and Innovation Day, themed “Recreating Tomorrow Today,” a philosophy that reflects Rite Foods’ operational approach. Through the integration of advanced manufacturing processes and data-driven marketing strategies, the company has not only accelerated its growth but also influenced broader industry trends, reinforcing its position as a market leader.
Speaking on Adegunwa’s achievement, Vanguard Editor Eze Anaba commended his role in driving strategic expansion, strengthening nationwide distribution networks, and fostering a culture of continuous innovation. He also noted that the company’s growth has generated significant employment opportunities across its value chain, including production, logistics, retail, and supplier partnerships.

Receiving the award on his behalf, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Ekuma Eze, described the recognition as a testament to the company’s commitment to redefining the industry through local excellence.
“This recognition reflects our dedication to challenging industry norms and delivering products that truly connect with consumers. It reinforces our belief that Nigerian companies can compete globally in quality, innovation, and leadership,” he said.
Rite Foods’ growth has been propelled by a portfolio of standout brands that have disrupted traditional product categories. Its Bigi range of carbonated soft drinks has established a strong market presence through bold flavours and value-oriented offerings. Similarly, Fearless Energy Drink redefined the segment with the introduction of a pioneering PET bottle format before expanding into cans. The company’s Sosa Fruit Drink and sausage products have also gained traction by aligning with evolving consumer preferences for convenience, taste, and variety.
Beyond its product offerings, Rite Foods has distinguished itself through strategic consumer engagement, particularly within the entertainment sector. Its sustained sponsorship of Nigerian Idol, from Seasons 6 to 10, highlights its commitment to talent development and national growth.
Today, Rite Foods stands as a strong example of Nigerian enterprise, combining world-class manufacturing at its Ososa facility in Ogun State with a forward-looking approach that continues to drive innovation and industry leadership.
