The Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration), Lagos State Command, DCP Khan Salihu, describing the late officer as an exceptional gentleman whose life exemplified humility, professionalism, and dedicated service to humanity.
Extending his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the Inspector General of Police, the Commissioner of Police, the management, officers and men of the Lagos State Police Command, Dr. Ogunsan noted that the untimely demise of DCP Khan is a significant loss not only to the Nigeria Police Force but also to the entire security architecture of Lagos State.
“We have lost an angel,” Dr. Ogunsan stated. “DCP Khan Salihu was one of the most remarkable officers I ever encountered. He was courteous, humble, compassionate, and always willing to lend a helping hand. His respectful disposition and dignified conduct earned him the admiration of all who came in contact with him.”
According to the LSSTF CEO, the late senior officer distinguished himself throughout his career through unwavering dedication, loyalty, and an outstanding commitment to duty. He noted that DCP Khan enjoyed the confidence and trust of the leadership of the Lagos State Police Command and remained a dependable pillar within the Force.
Dr. Ogunsan further highlighted the late officer’s exceptional interpersonal skills, describing him as a bridge-builder who fostered positive relationships across the security community and beyond. He said DCP Khan was widely respected for his calm temperament, accessibility, and readiness to support noble causes.
“Beyond his exemplary professionalism, he was a deeply kind-hearted man and a devoted servant of God. His passing leaves a vacuum that will be difficult to fill, and his absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew him,” he added.
Dr. Ogunsan emphasized that DCP Khan Salihu will be remembered for his honourable service, integrity, and the positive impact he made on countless lives through his compassion and commitment to public service.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed officer’s soul and urged his family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones to draw strength from the enduring legacy of excellence, integrity, and selfless service he leaves behind.
