APC Osun governorship candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, joins worshippers at Winners’ Chapel during a service in Osogbo.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Osun State, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has called on Christians and other citizens to actively participate in the political process by supporting leaders with proven integrity, competence, and commitment to public service.
Oyebamiji made the appeal during a worship service at the Redeem Breakthrough Cathedral, Region 43 Headquarters of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), in Osogbo, where he also joined members of the Coalition of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria to seek prayers for peaceful and credible governorship elections in the state.
The APC flag bearer, who is a former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), commended the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, for his decades of spiritual leadership and teachings, which he said have continued to inspire millions of people in Nigeria and beyond.
He also praised the Regional Pastor, Mrs. Matthew Oluyinka, for her dedication to the growth of the church and her contributions to the Christian community in Osogbo.
Addressing the congregation, Oyebamiji expressed appreciation for the warm reception he received and thanked God for His faithfulness over his life, family, Osun State, and Nigeria.
Citing Proverbs 14:34, which states that “Righteousness exalts a nation,” the APC candidate emphasised the important role of the Church in promoting good governance through prayers, civic responsibility, and support for leaders committed to the welfare of the people.
He noted that citizens’ responsibilities extend beyond election periods, stressing the need for continuous engagement and accountability from elected officials.
“The responsibility of citizens does not end on election day. People must continue to demand accountability from elected leaders and ensure that public resources are deployed for the common good,” he said.
Drawing inspiration from biblical leaders such as Joseph, Daniel, and King David, Oyebamiji stated that effective leadership requires wisdom, integrity, fairness, and a commitment to serving the people.
He assured the congregation that, if elected governor, his administration would prioritise transparency, justice, equity, and respect for every resident of Osun State.
“I have come to worship with you today, and I sincerely appreciate the warm reception I have received. If entrusted with the responsibility of governing Osun State, I will lead with fairness, equity and respect for all. I also humbly solicit your prayers for peaceful elections in our state,” he said.
The visit formed part of Oyebamiji’s ongoing consultations with religious organisations, community leaders, and other critical stakeholders ahead of the Osun State governorship election.
