Manchester United Women have parted ways with head coach Marc Skinner by mutual agreement, bringing an end to his five-year tenure at the club.
Skinner, who was appointed in 2021, played a key role in the growth and development of Manchester United’s women’s team, guiding the club to its first major trophy in women’s football after winning the FA Cup in 2024.
Confirming his departure in a statement on Monday, Manchester United said: “Marc Skinner has departed his role as head coach of Manchester United Women by mutual agreement.”
The club praised Skinner’s contribution, professionalism and commitment, noting that he helped drive significant progress within the women’s team during his time in charge.
Skinner’s exit comes shortly before the commencement of the new Women’s Super League campaign. Manchester United finished fourth in the previous season and will begin their new league campaign against London City Lionesses on September 4.
The club is expected to begin the search for a new head coach as preparations continue for the upcoming season.
