Rite Foods Limited, one of Nigeria’s leading food and beverage manufacturers, has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable business practices, recording notable achievements in environmental stewardship, clean energy adoption and community development as it continues to integrate sustainability into every aspect of its operations.
According to the company’s 2025 Sustainability Report, Rite Foods made significant progress in reducing its environmental footprint, achieving a more than five per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, a 23 per cent improvement in carbon intensity, a 15 per cent increase in water-use efficiency and a 27 per cent improvement in solid waste management.
Speaking during the presentation of the 2025 Sustainability Report in Lagos on Friday, July 24, 2026, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Ekuma Eze, attributed the achievements to sustained investments in cleaner production technologies, efficient resource management and operational excellence.
He disclosed that the company has continued its transition towards cleaner energy, with natural gas now accounting for over 93 per cent of its energy mix, while investments in renewable energy solutions are being expanded to support its long-term sustainability goals.
Beyond its environmental accomplishments, Rite Foods has continued to make meaningful socio-economic contributions by sustaining about 3,000 direct jobs and supporting more than 12,000 indirect jobs across its value chain. The company also invested over ₦581.92 million in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, environmental sustainability and other community development initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to improving livelihoods and supporting host communities.
Eze described sustainability as a core pillar of the company’s long-term growth strategy and a key driver of value creation.
“Sustainability has become a defining pillar of Rite Foods’ growth strategy and a major driver of long-term value creation. Every milestone we have achieved reflects our commitment to responsible business practices, reducing our environmental impact, creating shared value for stakeholders and contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s development,” he said.
He added that the company remains committed to innovation, transparency and continuous improvement, ensuring that its growth continues to deliver lasting benefits to consumers, business partners and host communities.
