CIG Motors Group has strengthened security operations in Lagos State with the donation of 10 operational vehicles valued at over ₦300 million to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF).
The vehicles were formally handed over by the Chairman of CIG Motors Group, Chief Diana Chen, to the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of LSSTF, Dr Ayodele Ogunsan, at the company’s international headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The donated fleet comprises four Wuling N111 vehicles, three Wuling XC250 vehicles and three JMC Vigus pickup trucks. The vehicles are expected to enhance the mobility of security personnel, logistics, field operations and rapid response to emerging security threats across the state.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ogunsan commended Chen and CIG Motors for their continued support for Lagos’ security architecture. He described the donation as a demonstration of the company’s confidence in the state and its commitment to the safety of residents.
Ogunsan noted that LSSTF relies heavily on contributions from individuals, businesses and corporate organisations to provide critical support to security agencies. He assured CIG Motors that the vehicles would be properly maintained and deployed for maximum operational impact.
He further described the donation as an investment in the safety and economic prosperity of Lagos, while pledging to promote CIG Motors as a valuable private-sector partner in the state’s security efforts.
In her remarks, Chief Diana Chen said security remains a fundamental requirement for economic growth, investment and sustainable development.
“Security is the first infrastructure of prosperity. Protecting Lagos means protecting lives, livelihoods, enterprise and the economic future of our nation,” she said.
Chen said CIG Motors’ latest intervention reflects its long-term commitment to supporting Lagos State and strengthening institutions responsible for protecting its residents and businesses.
She added that a safer Lagos would create an environment where businesses can thrive, jobs are protected and communities can prosper.
The latest donation builds on CIG Motors’ previous contributions to security and public-sector institutions. In September 2020, the company donated five fully equipped Dongfeng security vehicles to LSSTF for use by the Rapid Response Squad, Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps and Lagos State Taskforce.
The company has also supported security and healthcare interventions during the COVID-19 pandemic through the Chief Diana Chen Foundation, while in 2022 it donated a vehicle to the Federal Road Safety Corps in Lagos.
CIG Motors has further supplied vehicles to support the Nigeria Police Force through the Dangote Group and maintained partnerships with several state governments to strengthen security operations across Nigeria.
Beyond security, the company’s partnership with Lagos State extends to transportation and economic development through investments in local vehicle assembly and its involvement in the LAGRIDE initiative, supporting employment, driver empowerment and improved urban mobility.
The intervention further reinforces CIG Motors’ position as a strategic private-sector partner in Lagos State’s security and development efforts.
