Lagos, Nigeria – August 13, 2026 — Polaris Bank has hosted children of its employees for a special “Bring Your Child to Work” programme, offering them an opportunity to enjoy fun activities while gaining insight into their parents’ professional environment.
The initiative, which welcomed children aged six years and above, was designed to strengthen employee engagement and create memorable experiences that connect employees’ work and family lives.
Selected through an internal staff trivia draw, the children participated in various activities focused on learning, creativity, teamwork, interaction and personal development. They also embarked on a guided tour of the bank’s premises, visiting the banking hall and different departments to understand how various teams contribute to the bank’s operations.
Speaking during the event, Polaris Bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Kayode Lawal, encouraged the children to embrace curiosity, ask questions and make the most of the experience.
Represented by the Head of Human Resources, Olanrewaju Oyekunle, the CEO said the programme was aimed at helping children better appreciate their parents’ professional responsibilities while inspiring them to explore future career opportunities.
A key part of the event was an interactive session led by the bank’s Executive Director, Corporate and Investment Banking, Abimbola Ozomah, who introduced the children to basic banking concepts, including how banks operate, the importance of saving and responsible financial habits.
The children also had opportunities to interact, make new friends and share lessons from their experience, making the programme both educational and engaging.
For participating parents, the initiative provided a platform to share an important part of their daily lives with their children while highlighting the values of responsibility, collaboration and service.
Polaris Bank said the programme reflects its continued commitment to employee wellbeing and fostering an inclusive workplace culture where employees and their families feel valued and connected.
For the children, the experience went beyond visiting their parents’ workplace, as it offered them a chance to learn about banking, explore career possibilities and see their parents’ professional roles from a new perspective.
