The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new system that allows candidates’ O’Level results to be verified directly by examination bodies responsible for conducting the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed the development on Monday through a statement shared on his X handle, noting that the initiative is aimed at making the result verification and upload process faster, safer and more convenient for candidates.
According to Benjamin, the verification process will commence with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), allowing candidates to upload their O’Level results from the comfort of their homes while JAMB confirms the authenticity of the results directly with the issuing examination bodies.
He explained that the move is part of the board’s efforts to leverage technology in improving service delivery and reducing the need for candidates to visit Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for manual processes.
The JAMB spokesperson stated that the new system will help address challenges associated with manual O’Level result uploads, including missing documents, submission of fake results, and errors during the entry of subjects and grades.
He added that through the integration of JAMB’s eFacility platform with examination bodies, candidates’ results will now be verified against official records before being uploaded to their profiles.
Benjamin outlined that candidates will first need to verify their results through the approved verification platform by providing their National Identification Number (NIN), selecting their examination details, making payment, and obtaining a Verification Code.
After obtaining the code, candidates can complete the upload process by sending the verification details through the designated SMS channel and accessing their JAMB eFacility dashboard to apply their verified O’Level results.
For candidates with two sittings, the platform will display both verified results, allowing them to select the required subjects before final submission.
JAMB said the initiative reflects the commitment of its sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, towards creating a more technology-driven and candidate-friendly admission process.
The board assured candidates that it will continue to adopt digital solutions and collaborate with relevant agencies to make its services more accessible, secure and efficient.
