Japan Tobacco International (JTI) Nigeria has joined Nigerians in commemorating the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary, celebrating a national journey marked by resilience, ambition and the determination of its people.
The company also used the occasion to highlight its 18-year presence in Nigeria, noting its continued involvement in the country’s economic development through its business operations and commitment to building an inclusive workplace.
According to JTI Nigeria, its operations over the years have been guided by principles of respect, equal opportunity and employee development, with efforts focused on creating value for its workforce and other stakeholders.

Commenting on the anniversary, the company’s General Manager, Abdallah Simba, said the occasion provided an opportunity to reflect on Nigeria’s progress and recognise the resilience of its people.
“ We are proud to have been part of Nigeria’s story for 18 years and remain committed to conducting our business responsibly, supporting our employees, and contributing meaningfully to the country and our stakeholders,” Simba said.
He added that the company would continue to build on the progress recorded in Nigeria while strengthening its contribution to the economy and creating sustainable value for employees, business partners and other stakeholders.
