The Police Service Commission (PSC) has opened the portal for the recruitment of 50,000 police constables into the Nigeria Police Force. The recruitment process is aimed at strengthening community policing, improving internal security, and expanding the manpower of the police force.
To be eligible, applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth, between 18 and 25 years old for General Duty, and 18 to 28 years old for Specialists. They must also be medically, physically, and psychologically fit, with a minimum height of 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females for General Duty.
The application process is completely free, and applicants are warned to beware of fraudsters. The recruitment portal will be open from December 15, 2025, to January 25, 2026, and all applications must be submitted online through the official portal: (link unavailable).
For General Duty applicants, a minimum of five O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings, is required. Specialist applicants must have at least four credits, including English and Mathematics, with a minimum of three years’ relevant experience and Trade Test certificates.
The recruitment process will involve several stages, including application screening, physical screening, computer-based testing, and final interviews. Successful candidates will be required to undergo training at Police Colleges and training centers before deployment.
The PSC has emphasized that the recruitment process will be transparent, credible, and merit-based, with no payment required at any stage. Qualified Nigerians are encouraged to apply and serve the nation.
