The Super Eagles of Nigeria are gearing up for a historic showdown against host Morocco in the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Rabat. Nigeria has had the upper hand in their past encounters, winning three and losing six out of 11 matches against Morocco, with two draws.
Morocco, on the other hand, has been impressive at home, winning four and drawing one of their five matches in the tournament so far. The Atlas Lions will be looking to capitalize on their home advantage and make it to the final. Nigeria’s Super Eagles, led by coach Eric Chelle, have been dominant, winning all five matches and scoring 14 goals.
The match promises to be an exciting one, with Nigeria’s attacking trio of Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Akor Adams facing off against Morocco’s talented defenders. Osimhen has already scored four goals in the tournament, and Adams has contributed two goals and two assists.
Nigeria’s coach Eric Chelle attributes the team’s success to the players’ improved understanding of his tactical demands. The Super Eagles will be looking to maintain their flawless record and book a spot in the final.
Morocco, on the other hand, has been struggling with injuries, but captain Achraf Hakimi is fit to start. The team’s attacking midfielder Brahim Díaz has been in top form, scoring in every game of AFCON 2025.
The stage is set for an intense battle between two African football giants. Who will emerge victorious? The match is scheduled to kick off at 9:00 p.m. Nigerian time at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah in Rabat.
