Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, highlighted the president’s achievements at a Daily Trust Dialogue. According to Dare, Tinubu’s policies are yielding positive impacts, particularly in the economy. He cited the administration’s efforts to boost local food production, support farmers, and stabilize food prices.
Dare also emphasized the president’s commitment to infrastructure development, healthcare, and education. He mentioned the establishment of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Teaching Hospital in Ondo State as a landmark achievement in strengthening healthcare delivery and medical education in the South-West.
The FUTA Teaching Hospital is expected to improve access to quality healthcare for residents of Ondo State and neighboring states, while also enhancing medical training and stimulating the local economy. The hospital’s establishment is seen as a testament to Tinubu’s dedication to improving the nation’s healthcare system.
Dare further highlighted the administration’s focus on youth empowerment, citing initiatives such as the National Social Safety Net Programme, which has disbursed N330 billion to 8.1 million households, and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which provides subsidized education for young Nigerians.
The Renewed Hope Ward-Based Development Programme, aimed at empowering 8.8 million Nigerians across the country’s 8,809 electoral wards, is another key initiative driving economic growth and social protection. Dare emphasized that these efforts demonstrate Tinubu’s commitment to transforming Nigeria.
In terms of economic reforms, Dare noted that the administration has taken bold steps, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of exchange rates. While acknowledging the challenges posed by these reforms, he emphasized that they are necessary for long-term economic stability and growth.
