Caleb University has appointed Pastor Foluke Adeboye, wife of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, as its new Chancellor. This appointment was confirmed by the university’s Governing Council on February 21, following her receipt of an honorary Doctor of Humanity (Honoris Causa) at the institution’s 15th convocation ceremony on February 18.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olalekan Asikhia, described the chancellorship as “a new dawn where scholarship aligns with spirituality”. He added that Adeboye’s values and leadership would strengthen the institution’s principles, emphasizing that her appointment is not just a titular ornament, but a custodian of institutional ethos and philosophical soul.
As Chancellor, Pastor Foluke Adeboye will preside over convocations, confer degrees, and serve as the symbolic leader of the university during major academic events. Her influence is expected to enhance the university’s moral architecture, operational efficiency, and global goodwill.
Adeboye’s appointment has been welcomed by the university community, with the Registrar, Mayokun Olumeru, describing her as a strong advocate of ethical standards and character development.
