President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed former Senator Ibrahim Ida as the new Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). Ida, who represented Katsina Central in the Senate until 2023, brings extensive experience in public administration and finance to his new role. He holds an MSc in Banking and Finance from the University of Ibadan and an LLB from the University of Abuja.
Before his election to the Senate in 2017, Ida served as Commissioner of Finance in Katsina State and later as a Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service. The President has expressed confidence in Ida’s ability to contribute meaningfully to his administration’s agenda.
Tinubu also nominated seven individuals to fill vacant commissioner positions at the National Population Commission (NPC), subject to confirmation by the National Assembly. The nominees are:
– *Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi* (Ekiti)
– *Nasiru Mu’azu* (Zamfara)
– *Usman Abubakar Tuggar* (Bauchi)
– *Dr Isaka Alada Yahaya* (Kwara)
– *Prof Sadiq Isah Radda* (Katsina)
– *Suleiman Umar* (Jigawa)
– *Hon Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo* (Sokoto)
The President believes in the capacities of the appointees to further his administration’s commitment to improving the quality of life for Nigerians.
In a related development, Tinubu appointed Dr Yusuf Mohammed from Kano State as Chairman of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaltungo. He also confirmed Bala Bello as Special Adviser on Political Economy, who previously served as Deputy Governor at the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Bello holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. His experience includes serving as Executive Director (Corporate Services) at the Nigerian Export-Import Bank between 2017 and 2022.
The appointments are part of Tinubu’s efforts to strengthen key institutions and enhance governance delivery in Nigeria .
