President Bola Tinubu is set to commission six major projects in Lagos on Wednesday and Thursday, April 8-9, 2026. The projects include the Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge, Lagos State Geographic Information Service (LAGIS) building, Lagos Multi-Agency Building, Tolu Schools Complex in Ajegunle, Maracana Stadium, and Lagos Fresh Food Hub in Abijo.
The Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge, a 5.04km infrastructure, is expected to ease traffic congestion in key areas like Maryland, Ojota, Opebi, and Allen. Originally conceived over two decades ago, the project was revived and completed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration.
The Tolu Schools Complex, comprising 36 schools, has undergone a comprehensive transformation with modern classrooms, laboratories, ICT facilities, and inclusive infrastructure. This project aims to serve over 20,000 students and stands as the largest school community in Africa.
Other projects include the Lagos State Geographic Information Service building, which will modernize land administration, and the Multi-Agency Complex, designed to house multiple government agencies under one roof, enhancing efficiency and service delivery .
The Lagos Fresh Food Hub in Abijo is expected to boost agro-trade with modern storage and trading facilities, while the Maracana Stadium features 19 mini football pitches aimed at promoting grassroots sports development .
The commissioning of these projects highlights the strong partnership between the federal and state governments, as well as the importance of continuity in governance.
