Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, presented a sword to President Bola Tinubu, calling for an intensified crackdown on crime. This gesture was made during the commissioning of the Gateway International Airport and other projects in Ogun State. Tinubu vowed to crush banditry and terrorism, stating that his administration remains resolute in ending violence and restoring security nationwide.
The President emphasized the importance of strengthening security infrastructure to protect lives and property, highlighting the need for innovation and improved daily life. He commended Abiodun for utilizing federal allocations effectively, citing the Gateway International Airport as a prime example of impactful infrastructure development.
Abiodun thanked Tinubu for his support, stating that the projects inaugurated would enhance socio-economic development and boost aviation cargo businesses. The Governor also lauded Tinubu’s economic reforms, which have restored investor confidence in Nigeria.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to nation-building, emphasizing efforts to empower young people through increased investment in their development. He described infrastructure projects as vital to strengthening the country’s economic corridors.
The event was attended by several state governors, members of the National Assembly, captains of industry, and traditional and religious leaders. Senate President Godswill Akpabio commended Abiodun for actualizing the airport project, praising Tinubu’s leadership in repositioning Nigeria.
Akpabio also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the executive and legislature, stating that progress requires unity, not conflict. He commended Abiodun for delivering meaningful progress in Ogun State.
Tinubu expressed excitement that Ogun State is utilizing improved federal allocations to build industrial and infrastructural projects, catapulting the state to economic heights. He lauded Abiodun’s commitment, vision, passion, and patriotism in contributing to Nigeria’s economic growth.
The President assured Nigerians that his administration will continue to make progress, stating that Nigeria is determined to be great and is firmly on the path to achieving that greatness once again.
