Africa’s Global Bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, has further demonstrated its commitment to youth empowerment, digital innovation, and academic advancement with the commissioning of a state-of-the-art Innovation Hub and Business Office at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
The newly unveiled facility is designed to serve as a dynamic centre for creativity, entrepreneurship, technological advancement, and financial inclusion, providing students and members of the university community with access to modern digital resources, business support services, and innovative learning opportunities.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, representatives of UBA noted that the initiative aligns with the bank’s broader vision of fostering innovation-driven growth and equipping young Africans with the requisite skills and opportunities needed to thrive in an increasingly digital and competitive global economy.
The Innovation Hub is expected to provide an enabling environment for students, start-ups, tech enthusiasts, and young entrepreneurs to develop ideas, collaborate on projects, and gain exposure to emerging technologies and digital solutions capable of driving socioeconomic development.
In addition to the Innovation Hub, the newly established UBA Business Office within the institution will offer convenient banking services and financial solutions tailored to the needs of students, staff, and the wider university community, thereby deepening financial accessibility and customer engagement on campus.
University management commended UBA for the laudable initiative, describing the project as a strategic investment in education, innovation, and human capital development. They expressed confidence that the facility would significantly enhance entrepreneurial learning, research, and capacity building among students.
