The Lagos State Police Command has recorded another major breakthrough in its ongoing crime-fighting campaign, arresting 150 suspected criminals and recovering firearms, 100 unregistered motorcycles, suspected stolen property and illicit drugs during a coordinated raid across several criminal hideouts in the state.
The operation, conducted under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Tijani, formed part of the Command’s sustained Operation KO S’AYE, an initiative aimed at dismantling criminal networks and denying hoodlums safe havens across Lagos.
In a statement signed by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, and made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), the Command said the operation underscores its unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property throughout the state.
According to the statement, the coordinated raid was carried out in the early hours of Sunday, July 5, 2026, at about 5:45 a.m., following credible intelligence. A joint team of operatives drawn from various formations of the Command stormed criminal hideouts at Boolar, Okofilling Bus Stop, Igando, and other identified black spots within the Area M, Idimu axis, targeting criminal elements believed to be terrorising residents.
The operation led to the arrest of 150 suspects.
Items recovered during the raid included 100 unregistered motorcycles, 54 mobile phones, one double-barrel gun, two single-barrel guns, one locally fabricated double-barrel short gun, two military camouflage uniforms, assorted charms, six generators suspected to have been stolen, substances suspected to be Indian hemp, and various quantities of illicit drugs.
The Command disclosed that all suspects are currently in police custody while investigations continue to determine their individual involvement in criminal activities. It added that those found culpable will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
Commending the operatives for their professionalism, dedication and operational efficiency, Commissioner of Police Fatai Tijani reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to sustain Operation KO S’AYE across all parts of Lagos State.
He stressed that the operation would continue relentlessly to dismantle criminal hideouts, prevent criminal activities and ensure that no part of the state serves as a refuge for criminals.
The Commissioner also appealed to residents to continue supporting the Police by providing timely and credible information capable of assisting security agencies in identifying criminal hideouts, apprehending offenders and enhancing public safety across the state.
He further urged members of the public to contact the Lagos State Police Command through its emergency lines whenever they have useful information or require urgent police assistance.
