The Commander of the Omoku Zone of the Ogba Security Planning and Advisory Committee (OSPAC), Ozoemela Stephen Wokocha, has been killed alongside three women following an attack by unidentified gunmen in Omoku, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) of Rivers State.
The victims were reportedly attacked and killed on Tuesday evening along the Oba Road in Omoku, with reports indicating that the assailants left a letter at the scene after carrying out the attack.
The incident has sparked concern among residents and security stakeholders, with the ONELGA chapter of OSPAC condemning the killing and calling for urgent support from relevant authorities to strengthen its operations.
In a statement, the security group appealed to the Federal Government, Rivers State Government, and residents of ONELGA for financial and logistical assistance, stressing that additional resources are needed to effectively respond to security threats in the area.
OSPAC said it remains committed to confronting those responsible for the renewed wave of violence and destruction in Ogba land, but noted that limited operational capacity has affected its ability to fully carry out its responsibilities.
The group also advised members of the public to disregard any information or letter allegedly left behind by the attackers, warning that such materials should not be considered credible.
The security outfit called for continued cooperation from residents and stakeholders as efforts continue to address insecurity and restore peace in the affected communities.
