Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the appointment of Professor Badejo Ayodeji Olawumi (nee Faji) as the new Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo.
The appointment was announced on Wednesday by the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso.
Professor Badejo, a scholar in Guidance and Counselling, was born on August 4, 1962. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
She takes over from Professor Ibijoke Olatunji-Bello, whose five-year tenure as Vice-Chancellor has come to an end.
The Lagos State Government, in announcing the appointment, described Professor Badejo as an experienced academic whose new role will see her lead the university into its next phase of development.
Professor Badejo Ayodeji Olawumi becomes the new head of LASU following the completion of Professor Olatunji-Bello’s tenure.
