The Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Abuja Headquarters, has congratulated the department’s leader, Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) Margaret Ochalla, on receiving the 2026 Gender Sensitivity Award from the UFUK Dialogue Foundation Nigeria.
The award recognises Ochalla’s commitment to promoting gender sensitivity, inclusiveness and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.
Ochalla received the honour in the Individual Award Category of the 2026 Peace and Dialogue Awards, organised by the UFUK Dialogue Foundation Nigeria in collaboration with the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR).
In a statement signed by the FCID Headquarters Police Public Relations Officer, SP Funmilayo Eguaoje, the department described the recognition as both a personal achievement for DIG Ochalla and a reflection of the Nigeria Police Force’s growing commitment to gender-responsive policing, professional leadership and inclusiveness.
The FCID noted that Ochalla’s position as the only female member of the Nigeria Police Force Management Team was a reflection of her hard work, integrity, honesty and professionalism.
The department also commended the UFUK Dialogue Foundation Nigeria and IPCR for recognising DIG Ochalla’s contributions to gender-sensitive policing and peacebuilding.
The FCID reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that advance justice, professionalism, inclusiveness, public confidence and sustainable peace across Nigeria.
