As Nigeria’s construction and industrial sectors continue to expand, the growing number of commercial, residential and industrial developments is creating increased demand for dependable and energy-efficient cooling solutions.
The trend is drawing greater attention to heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, particularly as businesses and property owners seek ways to maintain comfortable indoor environments while managing the rising cost of energy and facility operations.
At The Big 5 Construct Nigeria 2026 in Lagos, JMG Limited, through its Clima division and in partnership with Trane Technologies, is showcasing solutions designed to meet the country’s evolving cooling and climate-control needs.
JMG Limited is the official distributor of Trane air-conditioning solutions in Nigeria, providing cooling systems for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
Speaking at the event, Vineeth Vijayan, Sales Leader, Nigeria and Ghana, Trane Air Conditioning, said the rapid pace of development across the country was creating stronger demand for specialised cooling systems.
“Buildings are going up, left, right and centre, and these buildings require cooling, specialised kinds of cooling and commercial cooling,” Vijayan said, adding that Trane provides solutions for a range of cooling requirements.
For Idoko Jonahs Adejoh, Business Development Manager, HVAC, JMG Limited, the growing conversation around cooling should extend beyond the initial installation of equipment to include the long-term cost of operating and maintaining such systems.
According to him, JMG Clima’s partnership with Trane Technologies is focused on providing HVAC solutions that combine effective cooling with improved energy efficiency.
He explained that although energy-efficient systems could involve a higher initial investment, their lower energy consumption could deliver savings over time.
“The initial investment into this might be a bit high, but in the long run, it cuts down on your energy consumption, giving you good value for your investment,” Adejoh said.
The consideration is particularly important for businesses and organisations that face significant electricity and facility-management costs as part of their daily operations.
Beyond supplying equipment, JMG’s partnership with Trane also offers customers access to local sales and after-sales support, according to Vijayan.
“Customers are benefiting not really only on the sales aspect, but also on the after-sales aspect,” he said.
With construction activity continuing to reshape Nigeria’s urban landscape, the demand for cooling solutions is increasingly moving beyond basic comfort.
For developers, businesses and property owners, factors such as energy efficiency, reliability, operating costs and long-term value are becoming important considerations when selecting HVAC systems.
