President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Chairman of Access Holdings Plc and Coronation Group, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, on his 60th birthday, commending his contributions to Nigeria’s business, financial and public sectors.
In a special birthday tribute issued on Thursday, September 24, 2026, President Tinubu described Aig-Imoukhuede as one of a generation of Nigerians who demonstrated that home-grown institutions could compete at the highest levels.
The President highlighted Aig-Imoukhuede’s years at Access Bank, where he became Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer in 2002 and led the institution through a period of significant growth. He currently serves as Chairman of Access Holdings Plc and Coronation Group.
Tinubu also recognised his contribution to the development of Nigeria’s financial markets, noting his previous service as President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and founding Chairman of FMDQ Securities Exchange. He also serves as Co-Chairman of EnterpriseNGR.
Beyond the private sector, the President recalled Aig-Imoukhuede’s involvement in public service, particularly his role in 2012 as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on the Verification and Reconciliation of Fuel Subsidy Payments.
Tinubu further praised the work carried out by Aig-Imoukhuede and his wife, Ofovwe, through the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, particularly its efforts in public-sector development, leadership preparation and healthcare.
The President said Aig-Imoukhuede had continued to commit his experience and resources to Nigeria’s development despite his achievements in private enterprise.
Reflecting on the significance of the milestone, Tinubu said the 60th birthday provided an opportunity to consider a career that had reached across several institutions and created opportunities for others.
He joined Aig-Imoukhuede’s wife, children, family, friends and associates in celebrating the businessman and philanthropist, while wishing him good health, happiness and many more years of service to Nigeria and humanity.
“Happy 60th birthday, Aigboje,” the President concluded.
