The Centre Against Injustice and Domestic Violence (CAIDOV) has congratulated Nigerians on the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary, calling for greater unity, peace and commitment to national development.
In a statement issued by its Executive Director, Comrade Gbenga Soloki, the organisation described Nigeria’s 66 years of independence as a reflection of the resilience, unity and enterprising spirit of its people.
Soloki congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Nigerians across the country and in the diaspora, while acknowledging the challenges that have accompanied Nigeria’s nation-building journey.
According to him, Nigeria remains a country with significant potential and opportunities for growth, despite the difficulties confronting the nation.
He urged Nigerians to remain patriotic and law-abiding, while supporting efforts aimed at strengthening the economy, national security and sustainable development.
The CAIDOV executive director also called on citizens to reject injustice, domestic violence and tendencies that could deepen divisions within society.
He encouraged Nigerians to promote peace, tolerance and mutual respect, stressing the importance of collective responsibility in building a stronger nation.
The organisation’s message comes as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary under the theme, “From Reforms to Stability: Consolidating Nigeria’s Renewed Hope for Shared Prosperity.” The Federal Government has said the theme reflects its focus on consolidating ongoing reforms and translating them into broader economic opportunities and improved living conditions.
CAIDOV wished Nigerians greater peace, progress and prosperity as the country commemorates the anniversary and looks ahead to another year of nation-building.
