TPT International, also known as The Preferred Team, has earned two major honours at the 2026 EDGE Awards, with its Founder and Chief Consultant, Adetokunbo Modupe, also recognised as a PR Industry Legend.
The communications consultancy was named Outstanding Strategic Communications and Reputation Management Agency of the Year, while Modupe received the PR Industry Legend award at the ceremony organised by Marketing Edge.
The honours recognise TPT International’s work in strategic communications and reputation management, as well as Modupe’s longstanding contribution to the public relations profession.

Established in 1997, TPT International has built its reputation around helping organisations manage communications, strengthen stakeholder relationships and protect their corporate reputation.
Over the years, the consultancy has expanded its services across corporate communications, marketing public relations, public affairs, crisis communication, reputation management and strategic counselling.
The latest awards come at a time when organisations are increasingly required to go beyond visibility and develop stronger relationships with customers, employees, regulators, investors, the media and other stakeholders.
TPT International supports organisations in navigating complex communication challenges, identifying opportunities and strengthening stakeholder engagement while building sustainable reputational value.
The double recognition also adds to the consultancy’s recent industry acknowledgements. Earlier in September, TPT International was featured in the inaugural Africa Consultancy Performance Index 2026, published by Earned First.
The index assessed communications consultancies based on areas including business performance, creative impact and client outcomes, innovation and thought leadership, talent and culture, and industry leadership.
The latest recognition reflects the changing role of public relations and strategic communications across Africa, where the profession has increasingly expanded beyond traditional media relations to include reputation management, stakeholder engagement, influence and strategic business counsel.
A key figure in TPT International’s growth is Modupe, a communications practitioner and Harvard Business School alumnus whose career spans public relations, marketing communications and strategic advisory work.

Under his leadership, TPT International has continued to expand its presence across Africa while maintaining an alliance with global communications network WE Communications. The partnership provides access to international expertise while allowing the consultancy to retain its understanding of the Nigerian and wider African market.
Reacting to the awards, Modupe described the recognition as another milestone in the company’s journey, stressing that the consultancy remains focused on its future ambitions.
“We know where we are today, and we know where we are building towards. This is a starting line, not a finish line. We will keep building,” he said.
The two awards recognise both the institutional contribution of TPT International and Modupe’s individual role in the development of public relations and strategic communications.
Nearly three decades after its establishment, TPT International continues to position itself around strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement and reputation management as it seeks to play a greater role in shaping the future of communications in Africa.
