The security and protection of lives and property will take centre stage in Agege, Lagos, on Thursday, October 8, 2026, as government officials, security agencies, community leaders and private-sector stakeholders gather for the Agege Security Summit.
The summit is expected to focus on practical strategies for strengthening security and improving safety in Agege, one of Lagos State’s densely populated and commercially active communities.
Key figures expected at the event include the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa; Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Fatai Olaiwol[a] Tijani; and ACP Saheed Egbeyemi.

Other expected participants include former Executive Chairman of Orile-Agege LCDA, Hon. J.S. Babatunde; real estate investor, Abdullahi Saheed Mosadoluwa; summit convener, Abdullahi Anikulapo; and the Chief Host and Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government Area, Hon. Vinod Obasa.
The summit will be held at the Agege Local Government Hall from 10 a.m.
Organisers said the event is designed as a community-focused platform where stakeholders will discuss security, public safety and sustainable development, with particular attention to stronger grassroots collaboration.
Discussions are expected to cover inter-agency cooperation, intelligence sharing and proactive approaches to crime prevention, as well as the role of communities in supporting effective security management.
Participants will also examine issues surrounding sustainable security financing, intelligence gathering, logistics, public awareness and rapid response mechanisms.
According to the organisers, the summit will provide an opportunity for government, security agencies, businesses and residents to explore practical ways of building a safer and more sustainably developed Agege through stronger cooperation and community participation.
