JMG Limited has partnered with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative to provide food assistance to more than 400 women in Majidun, Ikorodu, Lagos State, as part of activities marking World Food Day 2026.
The outreach, held on October 17, 2026, underscored the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and its determination to support communities through practical interventions that address essential needs.
The initiative brought together JMG’s leadership team, staff members and volunteers of the Lagos Food Bank Initiative to package and distribute food supplies to families in the community.
The exercise commenced at the Lagos Food Bank Initiative’s headquarters, where the team was received by its Executive Director, Dr Michael Sunbola, alongside Samita Keshinro, Muame Agbosi and other members of staff and volunteers. The delegation also toured the facility before proceeding to Majidun for the distribution exercise.
The outreach began with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative pledge, reaffirming both organisations’ shared commitment to tackling hunger and improving the welfare of families facing food insecurity.
Speaking at the event, JMG’s Chief Operating Officer, Christian G. Kozma, highlighted the importance of supporting women and recognising their contributions to society.
He explained that the initiative was designed to reach more than 400 women in Ikorodu, noting that women play critical roles in families, communities and organisations.
Kozma added that the outreach reflected JMG’s commitment to promoting women’s advancement and extending its social impact beyond its core business operations.
JMG’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Gloria Ibeziako, also emphasised the importance of collective responsibility in addressing hunger and supporting families in need.
She noted that businesses and individuals could contribute to reducing food insecurity through practical interventions and collaborative efforts that bring relief to communities.
According to her, the company considers it a privilege to support families by helping to provide food for their households, stressing that collective action remains essential to creating meaningful and lasting social impact.
Similarly, JMG’s Head of Marketing, Oluwatomi Faniran, highlighted the value of partnerships in addressing community challenges.
Faniran explained that the collaboration with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative demonstrated how organisations could combine their resources and expertise to respond to pressing social needs.
She added that the impact of the exercise extended beyond the food distributed, reinforcing the importance of building stronger relationships between businesses and the communities they serve.
The Executive Director of the Lagos Food Bank Initiative, Dr Michael Sunbola, commended JMG for supporting the programme, noting that the food boxes distributed were designed to provide assistance to families of five.
He explained that the intervention would offer meaningful relief to households experiencing difficulties securing their daily meals, while expressing appreciation to JMG for contributing to the welfare of women and families in Majidun.

Beneficiaries also expressed gratitude for the support. Morenike Adigun, a resident of Majidun, said the food supplies would help ease the financial pressure associated with feeding her family.
She commended JMG and the Lagos Food Bank Initiative for extending assistance to women in the community and expressed hope that similar programmes would continue to reach families in need.
The Baale of Majidun Community, Chief Alex Olusegun Omoyele, equally appreciated both organisations for their intervention, noting its importance in supporting residents and easing household pressures.
The initiative highlights the role of corporate organisations in complementing community-based efforts to address food insecurity and improve social welfare.
Through its partnership with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative, JMG has demonstrated how collaboration between businesses and social organisations can deliver direct assistance to households while encouraging greater corporate participation in community development.
The World Food Day outreach further reflects the company’s commitment to responsible business practices, recognising that corporate success extends beyond commercial performance to include meaningful contributions to society and the wellbeing of the communities in which it operates.
