The Dangote Refinery has denied reports of a shutdown, stating that its operations are fully functional and that routine maintenance activities do not impact fuel supply. According to Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, the refinery employs advanced predictive and preventive maintenance protocols to ensure uninterrupted operations. The refinery consistently supplies over 40 million liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) daily, alongside steady volumes of diesel.
The refinery challenges those spreading misinformation to place orders for daily deliveries of up to 40 million liters of PMS and 15 million liters of diesel for the next 90 days. The ex-gantry petrol price is N850 per litre. Chiejina attributed speculation about supply shortages and price hikes to unscrupulous individuals seeking to undermine Nigeria’s energy independence. These individuals aim to benefit from importing substandard fuels under the pretext of domestic supply shortages.
The Dangote Refinery reaffirms its commitment to transparency and Nigeria’s energy security, urging the public to disregard unfounded rumors. The refinery confirms there has been no shutdown or suspension of truck loading activities. Maintenance activities are standard and do not affect overall fuel supply. The refinery’s operations are fully functional, and it is committed to meeting the country’s fuel demands.
