Eyo Masquerades

The Lagos State Government (LASG) has announced traffic diversions ahead of the Eyo Festival, scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 27, 2025. The festival, a significant cultural event in Lagos, will feature traditional Eyo masquerades and processions through major streets on Lagos Island.
To ensure a smooth and safe event, vehicular movement will be restricted or fully closed along key routes, including the Third Mainland Bridge, Adeniji Adele Road, Sura Junction, Obalende axes, Onikan Junction, CMS Bridge, and Marina axes. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternative routes.
Alternative Routes to Access Lagos Island:-
– _Third Mainland Bridge → Dolphin Road → Osborne Road → Alfred Rewane Road → Falomo Bridge → Akin Adesola or Lekki-Epe Expressway_
– _Eko Bridge → Apongbon → CMS Bridge → Bonny Camp → Ozumba Mbadiwe Road → Law School → Lekki-Epe Expressway_
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be deployed at diversion points to guide motorists and manage traffic flow. The public is urged to exercise patience and comply with traffic officials’ directives.
The Eyo Festival, also known as Adamu Orisha Play, is a traditional Yoruba masquerade festival unique to Lagos Island. It honors distinguished Lagosians and promotes cultural heritage, tourism, and economic growth.
