The Lagos State Police Command invited Pastor Chris Okafor for questioning due to allegations of murder and other serious claims made against him. The police received widespread allegations circulating on social media, prompting them to initiate a preliminary fact-finding exercise.
The allegations against Pastor Okafor include sexual misconduct, manipulation, infidelity, and physical abuse, as accused by several women, including Nollywood actress Doris Ogala. Ogala claimed she had a nine-year relationship with the pastor, who allegedly promised to marry her but instead married another woman.
The police also received allegations that Pastor Okafor used his church account to receive money from fraudsters, with Ogala claiming she helped stop Interpol from arresting him over a $60,000 transaction. Additionally, there’s an allegation that someone was buried beneath the church altar, which Pastor Okafor has denied and invited authorities to investigate.
Pastor Okafor has publicly apologized for his actions, acknowledging “mistakes” but disputing some allegations. He stepped down from ministerial duties and has been meeting with authorities to address the claims .
The police investigation is ongoing, with the Commissioner of Police ordering the State Criminal Investigation Department to invite Pastor Okafor for questioning and gather witness statements .
The case has sparked intense debate, with some calling for accountability and others defending the pastor.
